Garrard 301 /401 / 4HF Spark Suppressor
Garrard 301, 401 & 4HF Transcription Motor Remanufactured Switch Spark Suppressor.
This is a copy part manufactured to a very high tolerance improvements have been incorporated into the design.
The symptoms for replacement are the electrical motor runs continually when connected to the mains power supply when the switch is in the off position.
The cause for this is the suppressor sits between the main on / off contacts. When the supressor fails it bridges the gap and allows the electricity to pass through it (known as leakage) allowing the turntable to stay on running when switch to the off position.
The unit also suppresses the spark when switching the turntable on and off elminating the click or pop.
Please note you will need two suppressor units for the early Garrard 401, These parts do not fit the later 401Turntable please check before ordering.
